Southfields Open Championship

Leicester England 2019

What a cracking start our juniors are having this year in competition. First with the successes in Dublin and now young Anna taking gold in England. Anna was fighting on behalf of the judo Ireland squad and I am told won all of her 4 fights. Keep up the great work .

All Ireland Judo Championships 2019

Our squad of junior, cadets and seniors were competing this weekend in Dublin. We were missing two of our regular players Amy and Anna who sadly lost their grandfather last week. We offer all the family our deepest sympathies. The squad came away with 13 medals that consisted of 4 gold – 4 silver – 5 bronze which is a fantastic result. Our heavyweight men took all 3 spots in the over 90-kilo class. On behalf of all of the coaches thank you for your commitment which I hope continues to grow.

Tipperary Open Friendship Games 13th October 2018

It is great to see the club going from strength to strength in competition. Once again our squad has done us proud and conducted themselves in a sporting manner that befits this fantastic competition. Again a huge thanks to all the parents for supporting us because without your help our club would be nothing.

Below is an article from James Mulroy of specialneedsjudo.com

In a recent collaboration with the All England Judo Federation, the president Joe Norman presented us with this lovely cup for use at one of our events or presentations. We think its only fit that we use this cup to further celebrate our special friendship games event of last weekend. So we have decided to award this cup to the club (apart from the host club) who were highest on the medal table. It gives us great pleasure to make this award to Cork School of Judo who achieved the fantastic result of 6 Gold and 7 Silver medal wins Congratulations to Steve Cole,David Springall, Aongus Synnott, Liam Donohue and their team on a job well done.

Dublin Open Judo Championships 2018

Wow, what a day for the club. Between the senior and junior squad, they came away with 5 gold – 4 silver and 6 bronze medals. All the club are extremely proud of your achievements and the way you conducted yourselves throughout the tournament. A huge thank you also goes to the parents who gave up their precious lie in bed to support the team.

R.I.P

All members of the club wish to offer their deepest sympathies to Artur and all his family on the passing of his father.

At long last

Congratulations to Lee and Donal on their promotion to blue belt.

Both players put a lot of time and effort in learning the katas. A very big pat on the back also goes to Liam Donohue who is the clubs grading coach who gave up a huge amount of his time helping the boys.

Well Done Girls

Congratulations to Anna & Amy who competed on behalf of Judo Ireland’s Junior national squad last week in England. We are all very proud of you both, and hope your success will inspire more members of this club to compete in the near future.

Club Visit

A very big welcome and thank you to Roy (Instructor) and Kaylee  from FM Brazilian JiuJitsu Carrigaline for attending our Tuesday night session 19/12/2017. It was great to train and swap ideas without politics or hidden agendas getting in the way. I really hope players from both clubs take advantage of the different skill levels each club has to offer.
